Tour of Auschwitz
Reflections lying on visiting Auschwitz 5 June 2009 recently tour of Auschwitz with five extra members of the Muslim Jewish. He shares his personal reflections here. It was a beautiful sunny day in Might, and in the trees the birds were singing. It felt so mistaken. Inside this place, at the present a monument to the evil that man is capable of, I felt the sky should live murky with frosty pouring drizzle or else snow.
The shadow of the Holocaust has worried my life. I grew awake with images of the concentration camps on tube. I was 10 when was captured, tried and hanged, and about 16 when ITV showed „The Investigation” by Peter Weiss, a play consisting exclusively of readings from the testimonies of prisoners and camp guards from the Frankfurt Auschwitz trial. The impact of their words is shown by the fact that I retain information the play supplementary than 40 time afterward.
Also memorable is the speech Elie Wiesel ended in 1995 at the 50th anniversary of the tour of Auschwitz, on or after which I have a short extract: In this place of darkness and malediction we can except situate in awe and remember its stateless, unnamed and nameless victims. Close your eyes and look: endless night processions are converging here, and here it is forever night. Here heaven and earth are on fire. Close your eyes and eavesdrop. Listen to the silent screams of terrified mothers, the prayers of agonized elderly men and women. Listen to the tears of children, Jewish family, a stunning small girl among them, with golden tresses, whose vulnerable softness has never gone me.
